Italian Sausage

In mountainous Abruzzi, big appetites are served in a tradition of multiple course meals. Here, the bold flavors from fresh onion and fresh garlic are combined with savory sausage and peppers to create a hearty tomato sauce.

Now only tastes like green pepper, not Italian sausage.
by R Rip

I’ve used and enjoyed Classico for decades. This Italian sausage Classico I use in making Lasagna with cooked and cut real Italian sausage. The last two times I’ve made multiple batches (freeze 3 glass bread pans of Lasagna) it has been ruined because Classico increased the amount of green pepper and lowered the Italian sausage quality (to stretch profits?) so all Italian sausage flavor is lost. Should be called Green Pepper sauce. Like many shortsighted companies, it appears they are trying to boost profit by decreasing quality. I’ll move on to another manufacturer.

I don’t usually do reviews but the Italian Sausage pasta sauce is, without a doubt, the best sauce I have ever had.

Used to be so good...

I've used this sauce for many years, but in the past year or two, it has a lot less sausage and a lot more salt. Not a great change so back to making my own.
